The leaves are changing and it’s finally getting cold, so it must be Fall! This is the time of year when we see so many new volunteer opportunities. But don’t think of volunteering as a one time thing because you never know what path that experience could lead to. You just have to take the first step.

Bello Marche needs volunteers at their main office at 7765 Freetown Rd. in Glen Burnie, MD 21060 on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to help stuff and seal 5000 envelopes for their annual holiday fundraising appeal. Resist the weeds!
Anne Arundel Weed Resistance’s mission is to empower and enable individuals and groups within the county to have a positive influence on the health and sustainability of the forests and natural areas in their communities. They are seeking volunteers that are interested in the removal and management practice of invasive species of plants.
Sat, November 11, 2017 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Weed Warriors Training:Volunteers interested in learning about weed resistance are invited to attend this training session being held at the Odenton Regional Library, 1325 Annapolis Rd, Odenton, MD 21113. When attending events, please bring your work gloves, hat, water, bug spray, sunscreen, and pruners and loppers if you have them. Tools will be available to borrow for those who don’t have them. Dress for the weather, including closed-toe shoes. After a brief presentation and discussion, you’ll walk, discuss invasive plant species we encounter, and practice removal techniques.
Give the gift of music!
Music 4 More, a nonprofit that repairs and recycles musical instruments to school music programs and music therapy programs for veterans is looking for volunteers to help with their Book Fair at Barnes and Nobles Annapolis on December 12 between 9AM-9PM. Volunteers are needed to wrap gifts and staff a booth in the store. Flexible shifts are available throughout the day.

Charm School’s mission is to maximize the potential of young adults by providing enriching and entertaining experiences to boost their self-esteem, personal presentation, and professional image. Mock Interviewers Needed
Volunteers are needed to conduct
Mock Interviews and provide Career Guidance for all 11th-grade students at various high schools. Help them cultivate real world experience, taking the topics introduced in 11th-grade English of résumé writing, interviewing, and networking and practicing them with an adult from outside the school. You can sign up for a few hours or volunteer all day. Instructions and sample questions are provided.

Join us to learn more about how families and schools can work together for the success of all children. A keynote speaker will kick off the morning and then will be followed by your choice of 2 breakout sessions from 11 different topics of interest to those who have or work with children from preschool through high school.
