Anne Arundel – Annapolis Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) has announced its LATE spring 2018 dates for Basic 20 hour CERT Training. Volunteer to become a trained member of your community in emergency response. The training will be held on Friday, June 1 from 6pm-9pm, Sat., June 2 from 8am-5pm, and Sun., June 3, 2018 from 8am-3pm at the Fire Training Academy in Millersville. A disaster simulation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 8am-1pm at the same location. Everyone completing the course receives a nationally recognized certification and the opportunity to join Anne Arundel-Annapolis CERT as a member. Secret Gardens 

The Hammond-Harwood House will once again host the Secret Garden Tour of Annapolis on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, 2018They need your help to staff the gardens! The shifts range from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on both days. You can sign up for more than one shift. As a thank you, volunteers receive one free admission to the gardens. The Secret Garden Tour explores different private gardens in downtown Annapolis. During this rare opportunity participants are given a behind the scenes look at some of the most stunning gardens in the area. This year’s Tour will take guests through one of Annapolis’ most historic areas: Charles, Cathedral, Conduit and Franklin Streets and Actons Landing, all just a minute’s walk from, State and Church Circles and City Dock. Every VOLUNTEER Counts

Every Step Counts Walk, Bike, 5K Run will be Sat. June 9, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. This fun event is being held at Anne Arundel Community College. Many volunteers are needed to help make this day a success including: help with greeting, set-up, route support, food service and clean-up, and more; families and group volunteers are welcome. Pioneer Camp

This year’s Pioneer Camp at the National Electronics Museum will be Space themed! July 18-19 or August 8-9, 2018, 9 am-1 pm. Kids ages 8-11 will spend two full days learning all about space! Campers will learn about satellites, telescopes, stars, space travel, and more! The Campers are going to make their own telescopes and planets as we explore the final frontier. Food Truck Fun

The Parole Rotary Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, is looking for volunteers to help with parking for the MD Food Truck Festival on June 10, 2018 at the Anne Arundel County FairgroundsThere are 3 shifts between 7:00AM and 6:30PM. Volunteers will be directing cars to parking spaces.  Volunteers will receive free admission to the festival from 11:00AM to 9:00PM when not on shift. The museum near BWI Airport serves students and the general public by collection, preservation and display of significant artifacts and literature and the commemoration of the creativity and dedication of pioneers and workers in the field of electronics. Volunteers, age 18 and up, are needed week days and weekends for education and outreach, for special events, as an administrative assistant, as collections assistants, and for visitor services. The Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services is looking for a Program Coordinator to work in the Annapolis location. The main purpose of this position is to act as the Program Coordinator for the agency and assist in the operation of the Community Initiatives & Programs Division. This position coordinates the Holiday Sharing, Back to School, Generous Juror, and Mentoring programs while administering the placement of volunteers in the agency.
